Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh visited Vinh Hoan to inspect Covid-19 containment activities

On July 17, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh and his delegation had a working session to inspect the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic in Dong Thap province.
Along with many other provinces in the South of Vietnam, Dong Thap is one of the Covid-19 hotspots in the Mekong Delta. On the morning of July 17, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh visited and inspected Covid-19 containment activities at Vinh Hoan Corporation, a large seafood company of Dong Thap in Cao Lanh city.

In response to the situation of the Covid 19 epidemic, both to prevent the Covid 19 epidemic while producing and ensuring the safety of employees, Vinh Hoan complied with the government’s regulations, strictly implementing 5K according to the directive. We also arrange accommodation for employees in accordance with the regulations of the State, ensuring meals, living conditions and allowances for employees to work safely.

In addition, Vinh Hoan also conducts periodic testing during the week during the application of the local social distancing policy. Until July 13, 2021, all employees at the factory were tested for Covid-19 with negative results.
During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the Covid-19 containment activities at Vinh Hoan corporation. However, the Deputy Prime Minister also noted that the situation from now until the end of the year is still difficult, so the Deputy Prime Minister directed and suggested the People’s Committee of Dong Thap province to make efforts to support businesses in the area to maintain production, ensure growth, strictly follow the principle of “3 places”, in which safety is ensured, and distance is implemented in all 3 zones: production, cafeteria area and resting area.

According to the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in Dong Thap Province, from June 24 to 6 p.m, July 16, they confirmed 1,041 Covid-19 cases. Up to now, Dong Thap has basically controlled local outbreaks and implemented social distancing across the province according to Directive No. 16 of the Prime Minister.
In terms of facilities, local field hospitals have 3,060 beds, of which 150 are for emergency resuscitation; the ability to receive more than 18,000 centralized isolation beds; The province has 4 RT-PCR testing machines with a capacity of 2,000 individual samples/day, about 10,000 aggregate samples/day. Dong Thap province is currently stockpiling 9,436 RT-PCR biological kits; 31,700 rapid test kits.
Contributing to the community and departments, supplementing resources to quickly prevent and reverse the disease, Vinh Hoan pledged to support VND 3 billion for Dong Thap’s vaccine fund. From 2020 to now, we have sponsored ventilators and medical equipment totaling more than 12 billion VND for Dong Thap, An Giang, Ho Chi Minh City and other localities.
